A celebration of the country from a community level

I project managed the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 2023 Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands, helping to bring the initial creative ideas to life as fully realised, large-scale live events. Working closely with Dreamcast Theatre, I supported the development and delivery of the show concepts, translating vision into practical plans on the ground. I also worked in close collaboration with the Games Organising Committee (GOC) to ensure all ceremonial and protocol elements were accurately presented and seamlessly integrated into the performances. From early planning through to live delivery at Honiara’s National Stadium, I helped ensure both ceremonies ran smoothly and reflected the cultural pride, unity and significance of the Games.
I co-directed and produced the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the VAN2017 Pacific Mini Games in Vanuatu, helping to shape and deliver a creative vision that celebrated community, culture and national pride. Working closely with Wan Smolbag Theatre and the Games Organising Committee (GOC), I supported the development of the ceremony concepts and helped bring them to life on stage. The ceremonies placed a strong emphasis on community participation, drawing together custom dance groups, youth groups and local performers to showcase the energy, diversity and creativity of Vanuatu. From concept development through to live delivery, the ceremonies highlighted the best of Vanuatu to a regional and international audience.
